B.S. Business Administration — Financial Analysis & Data Analytics

My name is Connor Valenti, and I am a Business Administration student at the University at Buffalo, concentrating in Financial Analysis and Data Analytics.
I am interested in banking and risk management, particularly how financial institutions use rigorous data analysis to navigate uncertainty, protect their clients, and make sound decisions. I enjoy understanding both sides of finance: the relationships that drive banking and the analytical frameworks that keep it stable.
That same interest extends to my leadership as Co-Founder and President of UB's Decentralized Finance Club, where I lead discussions on how emerging financial technologies are transforming modern markets, along with the opportunities and risks they introduce.
Outside of work and school, I enjoy traveling to new cities, staying active, and training for my first half marathon. In the summer, you'll find me out on the golf course; in the fall, cheering on the Buffalo Bills; and in the winter, on the slopes skiing. I'm always looking for the next challenge, whether that's a new place or a personal goal.

December 2025 — February 2026
University at Buffalo
I was selected to represent the University at Buffalo in a private equity pitch competition with 20 participating university teams. Our team evaluated a control buyout of Consensus Cloud Solutions (NASDAQ: CCSI), a provider of cloud fax and secure digital communications.
I built and presented an integrated leveraged buyout (LBO) model to evaluate the transaction’s capital structure, cash flow generation, and investment returns through IRR and MOIC over a three- to seven-year holding period.
Our pitch examined how recurring cash flows, debt repayment, and operational improvements could support the investment thesis. The model brings together transaction assumptions, sources and uses, financial forecasts, working capital, capital expenditures, and cash available for debt repayment.
I assessed operational, financing, and exit risks and defended our valuation and core assumptions in a live Q&A with industry judges. The competition emphasized a control investor’s perspective, including detailed financing plans and credible exit strategies.

Co-Founder & President · Previously Vice President
I co-founded UB’s Decentralized Finance Club, helping grow the organization to more than 100 members and secure official university recognition. After transitioning from vice president to president, I now lead the club’s strategy, executive team, programming, and student engagement.
I established a partnership with Ava Labs to secure a business competition that gives students the opportunity to develop and present real-world blockchain applications. During my time at UB, I’ve hosted more than 10 guest speakers from leading finance and technology organizations, connecting students with industry perspectives and career opportunities.
Our programming explores blockchain fundamentals, digital wallets, tokenization, and the opportunities and risks of decentralized finance through workshops, guest-speaker events, and collaborative projects.
